New exhibition by Sofia Areal in Galeria São Mamede in Lisbon opens on Thursday, t27th of April

On the 25th of February, the exhibition “Sofia Areal – Pintura e Desenho” will open at Galeria Quattro in Leiria. The artist will be present.

On the 11th of February, the exhibition Visual Dialogues, by Sofia Areal and curated by Martim Brion, will open in Banco das Artes Galeria BAG in Leiria, not to miss!

On Tuesday the 6th of December, at 6:30 pm, Sofia Areal will be in Livraria Linha de Sombra in Cinemateca to discuss three of the books she cherishes the most.

The film by Jorge Silva Melo, “Sofia Areal – Um Gabinete Anti-Dor” will be shown on the Cinemateca Portuguesa on Friday, the 20th of May at 19h00. It will be followed by a chat about Jorge Silva Melo’s career and filmography.

This film projection honours the life and work of Jorge Silva Melo, who has recently sadly passed away.

A new book on Sofia Areal’s drawings has just been published by Documenta and Fundação Carmona e Costa. The book has texts by: José Luís Porfírio, Jorge Silva Melo, Ricardo Escarduça and Martim Brion.
